Virus, Whistle, Whistler

audio-visual installation
  (* virtual demo)

Virus, Whistle, Whistler is an audio-visual installation. This artwork combines digital visualisation (I collected the number of new coronavirus infections and deaths in more than 200 countries between Jan 2019 to April 2020 and the list of medical staff who died during the epidemic), projection mapping, sculpture, and audio-visual interaction. Audiences enter the confined space and can choose to blow the whistles under the immersive infection of visual patterns and background sounds. The sound of whistles can control the speed of the pattern's spread. More the number of participants, the sound becomes louder, and the flow rate of the pattern, which symbolising the virus, can gradually slow down and reduce visual pressure.
